Arrival in Montana and News for April

Montana!  FCD School!  Let's get the show on the road!

Here is the group that has come together to do this school.  The Foundations of Community Development (FCD) school takes a lot of time going over biblical worldview and the roots of poverty as well as constructive ways to affect a community for the better.  You may recognize Craig and Jen here, I am blessed to be working with them again.  I feel like it is a real God thing, but as it works out they are helping staff the school since they are here in Montana anyway.  Arnold and Debbie Rottier are the school directors (Arnold is furthest to the right on the bottom row, Debbie is above him) they have been here in Montana working with the FCD for 13 years.

I am excited to be here, especially because it was such a last minute change.  YWAM Montana has been extremely accommodating through everything.  If you are curious about the base, you can check out their website here.  Also, I am blessed to already have the full tuition for the school so I don't have to worry too much about raising additional funds.  There have, incidentally, been a lot of expenses in getting established here and driving out, but I know God will provide since He seems to be paving a road ahead of me.  I am so glad He is in control and not me!

Happy Spring everybody!  I pray the warming weather finds you with lots of joy to start getting out and enjoying God's creation.
Here you can see the mountains and the big sky of Montana.  The water tower is an iconic centerpiece here at YWAM Montana.  The base here is located on a property that used to be an Air-Force base.  There are 3 large dorm buildings, a large dining hall, a "student center" with a gym, pool table, fooseball table, basketball court, and a snack bar.  It's amazing to see the property and facilities God has blessed them with here, and it is a really great environment for learning and drawing closer to the Lord.
The weather was lovely driving out here to Montana, but the day after I arrived we had about 3 inches of snow.  It was fun to see everyone here enjoying some of winter's final attempts at maintaining its stranglehold on the weather.  (Can you tell I don't think much of winter?)  Unfortunately, it would seem that Montana can be slow getting the memo that it is time for winter to be over, but I am praying some nice Spring weather will be on its way soon so I can try to get up to Glacier National Park and explore!

Good News!

God has provided a good quality car!

When I left Denver last year, I was really torn between trying to buy a car and drive home to Pennsylvania, or to fly.  I had been saving a little bit of money every month for about 2 1/2 years, and felt like it would be a good investment, since I would be most likely moving a lot in the near future.  I didn't end up getting one then, but as it came time to try and figure out how to get to Montana, I thought it might be time to look for a car again.  After test-driving lots of cars, I came across one in a parking lot that was just what I was looking for, and I was able to get it!  I'm so grateful for this 1998 Honda Accord that made the 10 hour drive out from Salem without a whimper.  God is so good and I pray this car will put many thousands of miles behind it as I pursue what God is calling me to.
